TRIBE CHIEF
The Tribe Chief is the leader, the one who settles disputes and makes the decision as to who will be the successor, but that is only in the case where there is no other alpha to take his or her place. As a tradition, when the Chief is dying he or she will take the next pair of Alpha’s to The Ancestors Path to pass on the Leadership of the Tribe. Sometimes there will not be a pair, and sometimes there will be. In the cast that the Chief has pups he (or she) will chose the strongest, bravest, and wisest to be the next Chief.
Alpha Male: Tribe Chief
Alpha Female: Tribe Chief
TRIBE HEALER
Tribe Healer is the most important position in the Tribe. Usually a She-Wolf, she tends to the wounds of the warriors, hunters, To-Bes, sees the safe arrival of the Queens pups. She is not lacking in hunting or fight training. The Healer must know how to defend herself as well as heal! The Healer is not allowed to have pups, but must pick from one of her family members pups to be the next healer upon immediate arrival. In the case that she is the only pup in the family she will pick the next healer from a Queen who is willing to let her take one of the pups under her guide. Next to the Chief, the Healer is the next well respected part of the Tribe.
Medicine Wolf: The Healer
Medicine Wolf Apprentice: To-Be Healer
TRIBE WARRIOR
A Tribe warrior protects his Tribe and his territory from invaders. They are the bravest of the Tribe, and well respected (though there may be some friendly banter between the warriors) Often they are the most ambitious of the Tribe as well, for they are more likely to be chosen as the next chief than a hunter. Brutes are usually chosen for this position, but the male-to-female ratio stays about even.
TRIBE HUNTER
The Hunters, or gatherers, are commonly She-wolfs. Not because they are seen as the weakest link in the tribe, but because they tend to be smaller, faster, and more able than the bulky warrior. The male-to-female ratio, like the warriors, tends to stay about even. Both warriors and hunters are given the same training, but as you can guess the Warriors focus a little more on the defending and the Hunters on hunting!
TRIBE TO-BE
To-Bes, apprentices, pups in training. They are chosen from birth what they will be, and that is what they will be all their life. Some have had problems with this and later left the tribe, but most of pleased with what they will be. They train with one Warrior and one Hunter in a large group. Newer To-Bes are taken on a tour of the territory by their teacher for that day. A Warrior and a Hunter can teach up to ten pups a class. These classes are held in the Early morning, Afternoon and Late Evening. They are required to attend two of these classes – for what pup would be stupid enough to attend all three without a break? – And must pass four assessments and one mission before becoming what they have been training for.
Trainers: Trainers are usually the Eldest of both groups (warriors and hunters), not yet retired to the Elders, and the youngest with a few moons behind him. Trainers are selected by the Chief for that day, so there is a new trainer for every day and every training session.
Youngest To-Bes: Are taken by the youngest Trainer on a tour of the territory. He or She can be either a hunter or a Warrior.
TRIBE QUEEN
Tribe Queens have very little to do. As soon as a She-wolf starts to show that she is expecting pups she is moved to nursery where she will spend her days preparing for her pups to meet the tribe with help from the Queens who have chosen to leave their former position and remain in the nursery for the new queens of the tribe. Once the pups are born and eating meat the Queen has a choice, to return to her Tribe position or to stay a Queen.
TRIBE ELDER
Tribe Elders are the most important position. They are not only the Senior Hunters and Warriors, but once they retire to becoming an elder they become part of the Chief’s council. Many decisions are made between the chief and the council. Such as a Hunter choosing to become a Warrior or a Warrior becoming a hunter, or who will become their next Chief etc. They make some pretty important decisions! At the same time they are secluded from the rest of the Tribe and are a disobedient To-Be’s responsibility to take care of.
